But, but… all the polls show that Oprah would beat Donald Trump in a head-to-head match-up for President. Yes, I saw the same polls. In fact, I just read another poll, this one from YouGov, showing that Oprah would defeat Trump by 4 points. However, what these polls really show is that Trump would win, and win handily against Queen Oprah.
Why? Simple. The election for President is not being held today, when these polls are being taken. It will be held in November of 2020. Between now and then, a lot is going to happen… to Oprah. She would have to go through a series of debates and interviews in which she will have to take positions on contentious political issues. Investigative journalists will dig into her past and report on things the public doesn’t currently know about Oprah. (Of course I’m talking about investigative journalists in the new media, of course. The traditional mainstream media will be covering for her.) Millions of dollars will be spent in negative ads against The Oprah. Her politics, life, relationships, business dealings, and a litany of other things relating to Her Majesty will be under a microscope for the better part of a year.
Keep in mind that Oprah The Robust has never had a day of negative press in her life. She has been built up and celebrated by the media for decades. As a result, she currently enjoys the highest degree of popularity she can possibly attain. Once she throws her sizable hat into the political arena, there is only one way for her poll numbers to go…. down! Probably, way down. Trump, on the other hand, has endured two years of the most negative media coverage of any politician in American history. There is nothing else the media can do to him. And still, Oprah The Magnificent is only ahead of Trump by 4-8 points? No, what these polls really show is that by November 2020, Oprah The Great will, in all likelihood, be losing, and losing badly. If Queen Oprah were Queen Oprah The Wise, she would be content to remain seated upon her media throne, because she will never sit in the Oval Office.
