In reporting about Michael Flynn’s plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller, ABC News rocked the political world by claiming that President Trump as a candidate had directed Flynn to contact the Russian government on his behalf. Later however, ABC was forced to clarify their reporting by noting that Trump gave the directive only after he had won the 2016 Presidential election. This is a huge difference, one with possible serious legal ramifications. ABC must have known the importance of this distinction, which begs the question: Did ABC report this incorrectly due to incompetence or for reasons related to their obvious political bias?
