Gun Confiscation: The Left’s Dream

After every high-profile shooting in America, Leftists immediately, and predictably, begin their calls for gun control. With the measured constraint and careful consideration of Bill Clinton in the Champagne Room at Fuzzy Holes Gentlemen’s Club in Little Rock, they self-righteously and repeatedly demand that we “do something!” You can probably list some of the meaningless blather they shout at us reflexively, such as “If not now, when?,” “The NRA has blood on its hands!,” “Nobody needs an assault rifle to shoot a deer!,” and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Despite all their hysterical nonsense, they usually have enough presence of mind to also say, because they have been trained to so do, that “nobody wants to confiscate your guns,” or “no one is talking about banning guns.” If you’re really lucky you’ll hear one of these would-be authoritarians say the following (and this is my personal favorite): “I support the Second Amendment, BUT…”

As an aside, anytime a Leftist uses the word “but,” it completely negates whatever was said immediately preceding.

Anyway, back to how the Left like totally supports the Second Amendment and how they really don’t want to confiscate guns from law-abiding Americans. Understanding how vehemently, and forcefully if need be, many normal Americans would oppose any attempt at banning or confiscating firearms, the Left has learned to lie about their true intentions. They assure us that they only want to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and those who “shouldn’t have them.” Of course, the way in which they would define those who “shouldn’t have them” would be an example of the exception swallowing the rule. If they had their way, only the government would have firearms. But, shhhhhhh…… we’re not supposed to know that!

So, as most of us normal Americans know full-well, the Left lies about their true intentions vis-a-vis guns. They must. The only way for them to achieve their real goal of a total gun ban and confiscation, is to take incremental steps until such time as they can get enough anti-Constitutionalists on the Supreme Court to nullify the Second Amendment. They also need additional time to continue the fundamental transformation of the American population, through immigration from the Third World, in order to give themselves the popular political support for their ultimate aims. Make no mistake, a total ban and government confiscation of every privately-owned firearm in the country is their true goal. It is their dream. Speaking among themselves in private, they are honest about it. In public, they lie. However, even that is beginning to change.

So radical has the Left and the Democrat Party become, that they are beginning to feel comfortable in being honest in public. Some are now calling openly for the total ban and confiscation that they have lied about for so long. In a recent op-ed for the Boston Globe, some little Leftist troll you never heard of named David Scharfenberg, does exactly that. In his piece titled “Hand Over Your Weapons,” he writes truthfully about what the Left and the Democrat Party really want: to ban and confiscate all guns.

Here are a few excerpts from his peice:

Trouble is, it’s not clear the “something” Democrats typically demand would make a real dent in the nation’s epidemic of gun violence. Congress can ban assault weapons, but they account for just a tiny sliver of the country’s 33,000 annual firearm deaths. And tighter background checks will do nothing to cut down on the 310 million guns already in circulation.

In other words, the proposals aren’t just difficult to enact in the current political climate; their practical effects would also be quite limited. On occasion, though, leading Democrats will make oblique reference to a more sweeping policy change: seizing a huge number of weapons from law-abiding citizens.

John Rosenthal, co-founder and chairman of Massachusetts-based Stop Handgun Violence, says it may be time to embrace a mandatory buyback — the relentless tide of mass shootings leaving weary activists with little choice.

Ultimately, if gun-control advocates really want to stanch the blood, there’s no way around it: They’ll have to persuade more people of the need to confiscate millions of those firearms, as radical as that idea may now seem.
